Free Capacity Building Trainings From mid-March until mid-June 2008, the Cape Cod Youth Empowerment Initiative and the UMass Donahue Institute will host five free three-hour trainings on Cape Cod. These five free trainings will be available to all community members. The Spring training topics are as follows:
Times, dates and locations of the Spring series of trainings will be determined and publicized as soon as possible. More trainings will be offered in the Fall of 2008, and periodically over the next three years. These future trainings will also be open to all community members. Special Services and Trainings for Partners In addition to these trainings, organizations that apply and are accepted as Partners, will receive a brief organizational self-assessment and a minimum of five hours of one-to-one feedback and support to develop an organizational development workplan. In addition, all Partners will be eligible for an additional training series in the Fall of 2008. Specialty training provided by the New England Network for Child, Youth and Family Services (NEN) will provide skill and knowledge development in youth development practices for youth workers and supervisors (6 days of training—learning community, create something together, interactive), in the use and design of outcomes measurement (6-hr training), sensitivity to the needs gay and lesbian (GLBTQ) youth (4-6 hr. training) spirituality and youth (2-4 hour training) and establishing professional staff mentoring (2-4 hours).
